The
Buffalo Music Hall of Fame, Inc. a 501c3 non-profit
corporation entity created for the cultural
enhancement and enrichment of Buffalo and
Western New York through the region's musicians
and music history, was established in 1983.
The
BMHOF's Mission is: To honor and protect the
diverse cultural music heritage of WNY through
preservation, education, scholarship, and
performance. In doing so, the BMHOF has inducted
over 230 members which includes outstanding
musicians, performers, innovators, and non-performers
who have made special contributions to WNY
music.

In
addition to honoring outstanding musicians
from the Western New York area at our Annual
Induction Gala, the Buffalo Music Hall of
Fame works to promote local music by sponsoring
an annual Scholarship awarded to High School
Music Students at the Annual "Concert
from the Heart", a performance by members
of the Buffalo Philharmonic and the Historic
Colored Musicians Club. Other "Spotlight
Concerts" are held throughout the year
to raise money for charities. The BMHOF is
excited about the annual "Music Industry
Networking Event" (MINE) where we match
young musicians with BMHOF veteran performers
in a mentoring role.
The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame is committed
to expanding its archives of significant memorabilia
and to establishing a permanent location at
which to showcase this memorabilia. The permanent
location will also provide the facitilies
to continue and to expand our efforts to educate.
The Board of Directors of the Buffalo Music
Hall of Fame always welcomes new members to
the board with an interest in music (though
it is not necessary to have musical talent!)
who would like to be part of this vibrant
and exciting organization.
