The
Buffalo Music Hall of Fame was founded by Rick
and Marsha Falkowski in 1983 to recognize
groups and individuals who have had a significant
impact on the WNY music scene and/or achieved success
in the music industry on a national and often an
international scale. Inductees are chosen from nominees
which are rated in several different categories.
The Buffalo Music Hall of Fame annually recognizes
and inducts outstanding Western New Yorkers who
have made major contributions to the music industry
at their annual induction gala.
In addition to honoring outstanding
music professionals from the Western New York area
and preserving our rich musical heritage, the Buffalo
Music Hall of Fame is committed to presenting music
to people of all ages and is proud to be sponsoring
an Early Childhood Music Program in the Buffalo
Public Schools. Through a grant administered by
the Hall of Fame, workshops are presented by Taylor
Made Jazz, a K-12 music experience at Buffalo City
schools. For many children this will be their first
exposure to live musical performance. This program
follows the highly successful "Strings 'n'
Things" children's musical performance group
administered by the Hall of Fame grant that targeted
pre-kindergarten children in previous years.
You can learn more about the inductees
and about the mission of the Buffalo Music Hall of Fame by
browsing the Hall of Fame’s new website. We welcome input
from the community while we add content to the new site
and encourage past inductees to get in touch with us so
that we can be sure to have the most up-to-date and
accurate information possible.
