Ani DiFranco

Acclaimed by Billboard Magazine as probably the most successful independent artist in the country. Turning down offers to sign with major labels, Ani formed her own record company, Righteous Babe Records. By doing it on her own, Ani clears more profit from record sales than other artists and she returns the proceeds to the Buffalo economy. Her records are all manufactured in Buffalo, she uses the services of Western New York companies for all her products and employs a staff at her downtown Buffalo offices. Ani is making both an artistic and economic contribution to her hometown of Buffalo.
