Top Male Rock Vocalist in 1988, 1989 and 1990 Buffalo Music Awards, Anes was originally from Boston, Mass. and moved to Buffalo with his band, Rock Candy. Playing all-original shows, Rock Candy was the most popular Buffalo hard-rock band of the late '80s. They released an album called "Sucker for a Pretty Face." Joie has since moved back to Boston and is performing in New England.
